自我介紹：Japan based fashion writer. Love watches, shoes, and rabbit...
How did you get interested in watches?
After taking a first career as an English teacher for children, I started pursuing my career as a fashion writer in 2015. My expertise lies in explaining the worlds of fashion and luxury in an easy-to-understand way from a woman's perspective. In 2019 I met my co-host Mr. Fukuda for the “腕時計魂!” of Kodansha’s FORZA STYLE, which has brought me closer to the watch world and learning more about watches almost every day.
Which of your IG post best represents your style?
This one. It was taken in front of F.P. Journe boutique in Omotesando, Tokyo near my office.
Have you found any differences between female and male watch lovers?
All watch enthusiast appreciates great movements, but I personally feel that gentlemen have a tendency to appreciate heritage and the stories behind the design a lot, while ladies love to wear a watch that makes her shine and feel special.
Gentleman: focused on the item itself (Sometimes seeks for a right reason to convince himself to buy it).
Ladies: Focused on how much that item make her feel special and look good when she puts it on.
What do watches mean to your work and life?
I enjoy learning watches, and it fascinates me how such a small (volumetrically) item can be something critical to your coordinate. Since watch is not an essential item to read time nowadays, I believe it represents more of your personality and preference. I often look at people’s wrist to seek for hints to understand them better, especially when meeting them for the first time. I am still on a journey to find an ideal timepiece for myself.
Which is your favourite watch? Why?
I had the wonderful opportunity to wear it for my talk show at Chopard, and I very very much liked it. Case size 33㎜ was a perfect size for a tall woman I like me. I especially like this beautiful “dawn pink dial.” Also, I love that ethical gold is used for this watch. The movement is made by Fleurier Ebauches which is a Chopard’s inhouse movement maker. After visiting their factory in Fleurier this year, I can appreciate this clean and accurate movement even more.
As a female watch lover, do you want to say something to the brands and the watch industry?
I hope that the watch industry will continue to make many wonderful watches for women that are beautiful and enchanting. I think it’s these watches that will impress female watch lovers.
Do you have other hobbies besides watches?
I love exploring beautiful restaurants in Tokyo. My friends and I take turns finding which ones to go.
