Most of my watch collector friends know me— or perhaps I should say knew me—as a collector with a preference for modest dress watches. I’ve always admired A. Lange & Söhne, and I marked the birth of my eldest son by collecting a Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921. In fact, I only own one watch on a bracelet: a 15-year-old Cartier Tank Française.
我的手錶收藏圈的朋友們都知道（或者應該說是曾經聽說過）我是偏愛低調正裝錶的收藏家。我一直很欣賞A. Lange & Söhne，而在我的大兒子出生時，我也特別收藏了一只Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921作為紀念。事實上，我的收藏中僅有一款搭配金屬鍊帶的手錶，一只我15年前入手的Cartier Tank Française。
2024, however, is the year I immersed myself in the world of independent watchmaking. It started with a curiosity about MB&F when I first saw the HM9 a few years ago, and culminated in my purchase of the HM11 at the start of 2024.
然而，2024年是我投身於獨立製錶世界的一年。一切都始於幾年前我第一次見到HM9的時候，我從此對MB&F產生了好奇，這份好奇在我於2024年年初將HM11收入囊中後更達至頂點。

Since then, I’ve connected with founders and executives from various independent watchmakers, as well as fellow indie collectors. The community has been nothing but welcoming, full of passion and mutual support.
自此，我與多位獨立製錶品牌的創始人、管理層以及其他同樣熱愛獨立製錶的收藏家建立了聯繫。這個社群充滿熱情和互助的氛圍，讓人深受鼓舞。
Plenty of praise has been heaped on this watch for its technical brilliance and artistry. Naturally, I love it for these reasons and more. But on a personal level, the HM11 has reignited my passion for collecting and taken it to a new level—making it my clear choice for ‘Watch of the Year.’ There’s no turning back now!
