My favourite recent NWA, and a watch that has quickly become a fixture on my wrist, is the Cartier Tank Chinoise in platinum, reference WGTA0074.

Acquiring this watch was the very definition of a considered choice. As a highly sought-after limited edition of just 150 pieces from the 2022 Cartier Privé collection, this was a timepiece I had been meticulously hunting down for over a year. I have always admired Cartier’s mastery of shaped watches, but the Chinoise holds a special allure with its structural inspiration, echoing the architectural porticos of East Asian temples.
入手這只腕錶，對我而言幾乎可以說是深思熟慮的最佳體現。作為2022年Cartier Privé系列中僅限量150只的高人氣作品，我前後花了一年多時間細心尋覓。一直以來，我都相當欣賞Cartier在錶殼上的造型造詣，而Chinoise其結構呼應了東亞寺廟門廊的建築風格，尤其具有特殊魅力。
What truly stands out to me is the breathtaking case geometry. The pronounced, overlapping horizontal brancards give the watch a three-dimensional depth not found in a standard Tank. Combined with the heft of platinum, the grey sunburst dial, and the ruby cabochon Cartier expertly contrasted these elements, applying a brilliant mirror polish to the horizontal bars while giving the vertical stretchers a subtle satin-brushed finish. crown, it is a masterclass in finishing.
真正打動我的，是那極具張力的錶殼幾何。橫向延伸、彼此交疊的「brancards」結構，為整體帶來標準Tank所沒有的立體層次。Cartier在細節處理上展現了極高的完成度，水平結構採用鏡面拋光，垂直支撐則以細膩的拉絲處理形成對比，再加上鉑金材質本身的份量感、灰色放射紋錶盤，以及紅寶石錶冠，堪稱裝飾工藝的巔峰之作。
This was far from an impulse buy; it was a deliberate reward to commemorate a milestone. Making it even more extraordinary is its limited-edition serial number, which serendipitously aligns with my birth year. This detail grounds the watch for me, turning a rare acquisition into a deeply personal piece of my collection. It represents the pinnacle of elegant restraint, proving a century-old design can remain breathtakingly modern.
